Kate Gingold is a writer and a history buff. She was able to combine these two loves in her book Ruth by Lake and Prairie. The book was honored by the Illinois State Historical Society for “use of creativity within an accurate framework of history” in telling the story of a pioneer girl and her family’s trek west. She sat down with author Louise Brass to talk about her creative process.
